The SCA and PTA are joining efforts again this year (2011-12) to bring opportunities for community service projects to our Pinchbeck families. Specific details for each project will appear
in the PTA Weekly News as we approach the date of the project. Whether you choose to participate in one project or in multiple projects we thank you for supporting Rays

School Supply Drive
September 1 - 22
Glue sticks, pencils (regular & colored), crayons, pocket folders, highlighters, scissors, pencil boxes & construction paper will be collected for Laburnum Elementary School,

Playground Equipment Drive for Pinchbeck
September through November 11
We are collecting gently used or new playground equipment, such as kickballs, hula-hoops, Frisbees, or other equipment that can be used on the blacktop or field.
YWCA Family Shelter
October 22 - 28
Coins will be collected to support women and children in need of assistance. Donations will fund the purchase of a television and DVD player for the safe house. We will also collect gently used children’s DVDs and VHS tapes.
Support our Service Men and Women & Children in War-torn Areas
November 11 - 18
We are collecting black crew socks, hard candy and lip balm, as well as cards and notes of appreciation for our service men and women. We will also collect gently used stuffed animals (no larger than Webkinz–sized) for the troops to give to children in war-torn areas. Donations will be given to Operation Gratitude for distribution.

Mrs. Clayton’s Cupboard
January 19 - 27
Bags of pretzels will be collected for Mrs. Clayton’s Cupboard, a pantry created to provide healthy snacks for Pinchbeck students who would otherwise go without.
Books on Wheels Book Drive
February 24 – March 2
Gently used children’s books will be collected during the Book Fair Kick-Off Pasta Dinner and through the following week for Books on Wheels, a local non-profit organization that provides free books and free bicycle repair.

St. Jude’s Math-A-Thon

Students participating in the St. Jude’s Math-A-Thon improve math skills while raising money to help St. Jude’s patients battling cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.

Walk in My Shoes Shoe Donation Program

Gently used shoes of any style, size, and brand will be donated to CarePoint Medical. CarePoint will deliver the shoes to local charitable organizations to distribute to the individuals &/or families to whom they provide assistance.
